Our Local branches including the State branch have been regularly observing every year various important activities as per the guidelines of IMA Headquarters. Besides this, our local branches are actively involved with a lot of academic and social work. In this context, I must thanks the Secretaries        of IMA Cuttack Branch, Bhubaneswar Branch, Barbil Branch, Rourkela branch, Rourkela City Branch, Berhampur Branch, Bhadrak Branch, Baiugaon-Bangur Branch, Sarnbaipur Branch and many other branches for Organising regular monthly scientific meeting at their branch level.

Our state branch has conducted 30 Training Workshop on "Management and control of Malaria" for general practitioners through various local branches during the month of March and April 2002 with the help of IMA Hq. Besides one state level workshop on Malaria was conducted on 28.04.2002.

Friends 1 request all the branch secretaries to involve every member in whatever way it is suitable to the individual " be it a free medical camp be It a clinical meeting or a workshop ". Interaction between the members, interaction between the branches, and interaction between the State Hq. joint meeting with the neighboring branches are the ways to increase the relationship and understanding between the members. Days are gone when a doctor thought another doctor is a competitor for him. The real competitor and an enemy to our profession are quacks and other unwanted elements in the society.

Our Ambulance & Dead body Carrier is also being extending its services in cheaper and more efficient way in the pursuit of larger patient care. I am glad to inform you that our State Branch has got another ambulance from Rotary       International Matching Grand Project between R.I. District - 3260 India and Turkey. In this connection 1 must thanks Prof. Gopal Chandra Kar, the then District Governor of Rotary Internationals Cuttack. The new ambulance is functioning effectively from 08.05.2002. We have many more ideas. I hope, we will succeed in due time.
